My Work Experience:
I ran track during my 8th grade year (as well as cross-country, winter and spring track)my freshman and sophomore years of high school and these have become something that I already had a slight passion for and it's a thing that I've grown to love and have an incredible passion for. I run 4-6 miles every day, whether it's at practice or not, rain or shine, hot or cold. Nothing compares to the thrill of a race, especially if it's a Conference race versus some of the best teams in our region, including West Forsyth, Glenn, Reynolds and Regean. Cross-country and track are great ways to meet new friends, improve your endurance and test your skills against schools from all across someone's region. Even if you aren't the best at something that you like to do, that doesn't give you an excuse to not try it. I may not be the best at running but it's something I enjoy and love to do daily because I get to hang out with friends and explore the world as a runner would see it, dirt paths or asphalt, 90 degrees or 35.

I want to use my running to influence other athletes and just other kids in general, to use their talents and skills to help out members of their local community. I want them to do whatever "floats their boat" and it doesn't have to go towards benefiting a certain organization, it can go to whatever they want. The reason I want to help out the Storehouse for Jesus is because when I was helping them over the summer, I realized how big of an impact they actually had in helping our local community each and every day. If someone wants to do something, they first have to get into the mindset of getting their idea started and then progressing from there;even if they don't want to donate money to a certain organization, that does not mean that they can't create an idea related to that project. That is the main goal of my project: to help influence other kids to pursue their passions, as I am currently doing right now with my "Running for Jesus" campaign. I've gone through lots of aches and pains since I first started running but as I've gotten used to running for longer distances for longer amounts of time, my endurance has gotten better and at the end of this year's cross-country season, my best mile time is 6:07. My best mile time at the end of last season was 6:24 so I've improved 17 seconds since last season.
